During the hoarding craze that started early on in the COVID-19 crisis, a lot of cleaning essentials were sold out. Many shelves are still empty or sparsely stocked in stores around the country, but fortunately, if you have some disinfectant, you don’t need a lot to go a long way. Take bleach for example. It is very potent, and with as little as 4 teaspoons in a quart of water, you have a solution capable of killing the coronavirus. Other chemicals that can be used are EPA registered disinfectant and an alcohol solution of at least 60%.
If you spray any of these solutions on a surface and let it sit there for a few seconds, it will kill the coronavirus. You should use gloves when cleaning since these chemicals can be very rough on the skin, and there is also a chance that you could contaminate yourself while cleaning.
