Wildfires seem to be more and more common these days and they are turning out way more damaging than ever in the past. Even though we are in the colder part of the year right now, it is a good idea to plan ahead and make sure that your home is as safe from raging wildfires as it could possibly be.
Naturally, there is only so much that you can do to protect your home, but it is important to ensure that there is as little fuel as possible for a wildfire around your home. Piles of old wood, such as pallets and other scrap, shouldn’t be kept near your home.
If you have a fence around your property, you shouldn’t let leaves and branches build up around it, since this could prove to be an excellent source of fuel for a fire. Even the fence itself could be a problem, so it is best to have a fence that is non-flammable.
Cutting back trees and bushes far out from your home can help as well. While it might be quite a lot of work to care for all these things, you will be thankful if it keeps your home out of harm’s way.
